We recently switched our satellite provider from Dish Network to Verizon Fios tv. We are now paying the same price that we were, but have a lot more channels and now have DVR. That in itself is one of the best inventions in history in my opinion. I have never had DVR or TIVO... I love it!!
One of the channels we now get is a kids channel called Boomerang. It has a ton of old tv shows that I watched as a kid like:
Smurfs
Flinstones
Jetsons
Huckelberry Hound
Popeye
Tom and Jerry
Scooby Doo
Yogi Bear
Talk about a goldmine. And that's just to name a few. My kids are loving it. It's too fun!!

Yeah....we had the same reaction when we switched to fios! DVR is awesome!
I love Boomerang. We don't get it anymore though. They moved it to a higher package. :( Be careful with DVR. If you're anything like me, you'll find yourself paying less attention to things knowing that you can always rewind it. I find myself waiting for "replays" at high school football games, or saying "rewind that" at other people's houses that don't have DVR. It's pretty funny actually.
