Five Years Already

Saturday started out gloomy with a little rain, but turned into some nice hot sunshine. There was tons of good food and seeing everyone again was great. There were plenty of activities outside for young and old. Nik played in a game of wiffle ball and had 2 homers, the only homers for his team. That's my man. :) The kids enjoyed blowing bubbles and playing with sidewalk chalk.

We left around 4pm and headed home to get ready for our evening out. We got to Get smart about a half hour early and there were barely any seats left in the theater. I guess since there was only one showing that evening we should have known better, but at least we got in. The food was good as always except for the fact that right at the end, Nik bumped the table and knocked my whole plate of food on my lap including my nice ketchup bowl for my fries. I gave him a very sweet look of "thanks alot." :) I still love you honey. After that we headed over to Club Soda, which we again should have made a reservation. It was packed out, but they managed to find us a seat.

I also want to say thank you to everyone who gave us cards, and also to my mom and dad who threw a little something extra inside. :)

Our kids had quite a ball without us though. Grandma and Grandpa Burkhardt watched them for us and had quite the night planned for them. First they went to Burger King with a 3 story play place. And then they went off to Sweeny Park. Next they came home and did a scavenger hunt of fun little items they had picked up at Meijers, and then they watched a movie. Quite the fun evening I would say. Carter woke up when we got home and he just went on and on and on about what all they did.

Big Weekend

Tomorrow afternoon we have a Stiver reunion here in Fort Wayne to attend. My cousin Janean is putting it all together and has planned some outdoor games for the kids. I hope the rain holds off because the yard is huge and I know the kids would have a blast being outside.

Then tomorrow night, Nik and I will be celebrating our 5 Year Anniversary. It's amazing how fast the time goes. It's been quite the journey. We are going to go to the Cinema Grill and see Get Smart and have some yummy food there. And then afterwards I think we might go to Club Soda for some drinks and music. I looked up online who is going to be there and I guess its the Todd Harold Trio. It says its R&B mixed with a little funky classic rock and he plays an 8 string guitar. Should be interesting.

Well, hopefully I will get some good pics from the upcoming weekend.

And a Big Congratulations to Tom and Stacey Hahn!! Stacey had her baby last night.

The Big Winner!!

Friday afternoon my work had a summer picnic out on the lawn. We had a big white tent set up for the food, and boy was it delicious. We had hamburgers, salads, cheesy potatoes, crab legs with hot melted butter to dip it in, several different cookies and fruit tarts, oh man, I stuffed myself.

We also had volleyball, which I didn't play because I was definately not going to embarress myself. :) And there were two individual tournaments going on for corn hole and hillbilly golf (that game with the strings that have balls on each end and you throw it at the 3 bars). Well, I love corn hole, but didn't make it in the finals. But I WON hillbilly golf!!!!!!!! I ended up with a $100 gift card to Crate and Barrell. Sweeeeeeeet. There were also several silly door prizes given away. It was a very fun afternoon.

That same day, Nik and Savannah went to Cedar Point. She got an Iron Dragon shirt after riding it two times in a row. That was her big thrill ride for the day. She had a great time and Nik was happy to share in her excitement.

Saturday I went to a giant rummage/garage sale at Blackhawk School. All the proceeds went to missions. I found lots of great deals. I hope they do it every year.

Sunday Barb and Eric came over to hang out with the family. We all enjoyed being entertained by a little guitar hero fun. It is quite the goofy game. :)

Savannah's Photo Shoot

So I took Savannah to the park again this afternoon. She was an excellent poser, although she kept begging to go and get ice cream, it did sound good. I am not going to post all the pics I took. Father's Day Weekend

We had a great weekend in Indianapolis at my brother's house. Their addition was also having a garage sale, which I found lots of bargains. But the one I was most excited about was spotted by Tara. Sesame Street makes individual letter books of the Alphabet. So all together there are 26 books, which sell "used" on ebay for around $40. Someone sold the whole entire set to me for $2.00. That's right, I said TWO DOLLARS. Holy moley!! What a deal!!! The back of each book also has a specific picture on it to form a giant puzzle. They are a great collection.

The Stiver/Burkhardt boys and Savannah definately made for a rowdy weekend. :)

Rose Garden

So as some of you have already seen, I took some pictures at Lakeside Rose Garden a few blocks from our house. I had taken the kids to an actual photo place called Portrait Innovations at Jefferson Pointe, but that didn't go so well. The boys were out of control to say the least. So I decided to do my own session at the park. I plan on doing a ton with just Savannah sometime this week. I can't wait to do that with her. I got some great pics at the park, but half of them the boys wouldn't cooperate too well, although I don't blame them, it was 90 degrees. Grandma Burkhardt was there with us. We had a great time.

Color Me Happy

We have had several thunderstorms in the last couple weeks. On Saturday we had a pretty big one with the joy of tornado warnings in our surrounding area on top of it, but it didn't and last too long. A friend and I were playing Phase 10 (card game) and she happened to look up and notice the sky. Everything was really an intense green color. We walked to my front door and looked up and saw the most beautiful rainbow. There was a faint second rainbow above it. It was awesome. My boys had never seen a real rainbow before, so it was a cool experience for them.

Yesterday we had another thunderstorm and it knocked our power out from the time I got off work around 5:30pm until 11:30pm last night. We played a game of sequence with our neighbors, but besides that, it was a majorly boring night.

Think Pink

Over the past year and a half I have had to deal with the cell phone from down under. I have a Sprint Razor, and the battery life on it has always been horrible. I mean, the average cell phone's battery life usually lasts up to 3 days. Mine lasts maybe 6 hours. I am constantly charging it so it won't die on me at an important time. It's really annoying in the middle of the night when I am in bed and I hear this loud BEEP BEEP.... BEEP BEEP... Some days I really wanted to throw it against the wall. When I first got it, I traded the battery at least 3 times for a new one. Finally, Sprint told me, the Razor phones just can't hold a charge too long and there is nothing we can do about it. So basically, I have just dealt with it. My brother actually got the same phone, and a few months back he was in a Sprint store in Florida and threatened to cancel with them all together. I guess a manager came out and got him a new phone with a good deal. I decided I didn't want to do that and I was going to wait out my horrible phone until my contract was up this December.


Well, 2 days ago, I received a letter from Sprint that told me since I was such a valued customer (yeah right) and I had been with them so long (6 years, I would say so) that they were going to allow me to come to their store and pick out 1 of 3 phones for FREE!!. They said the value of each of these phones was $250. I am thinking right, I am sure it's total junk. And the only catch was a new 2-year agreement. Ugh... The dreaded contract.... Well, I thought, I might as well check it out...


So yesterday, I went in to their store and looked at the phones. Only 2 of the 3 free phones were in stock. And they were actually very amazing phones. But the best part is, they both came in PINK. Ohhhhhhhhh..... I have seen attachments for phones to dress them up in pink, but never an actual PINK phone. I was uber excited. The store employee quickly brought out the pink phones. Needless to say, I was SOLD in about 5 seconds. I loved it. I then told them how dissapointed I was with my current phone and said I did not want to deal with a crappy battery anymore. He assured me that both of these phones were fantastic and that I had 30 days to return it if I didn't like it. So, I signed the dotted line.


And here she is.... ain't she a beauty. :)

Back to Work...

I have had a couple vacation days this week because my boss is in Florida at Disney World with his family. I have got a lot done over the last two days though being home. I finally finished painting the rest of the playroom, got the oil chaned in the Tauras, took Jordan to get his immunization shots, and also got a lot of housework done.

Last weekend, Nik took Carter to the zoo again, but this time, Savannah got to go too. They had a really good time.

Carter's new talent. He showed me one night that he can totally cross his eyes. But when i got the camera out, he only managed one eye. LOL. My goofy kids!!
