Memorial Weekend!

Saturday night we spent time with our good friends Kevin and Kelli Wack over in Ohio. I haven't seen their daughter Ceci in a year. She is so big and adorable. Kayla (Nate's girlfriend/Kelli's sister) was also there from Cali. It was so good to see her and talk. :) We grilled out and the kids played in the kiddie pool.

After that we spent the night at Nik's mom and dad's house and went to church with them the next day. Byron did awesome as usual. And we ate at "The Bulldog" afterwards for lunch.

After that we headed to my cousin Danielle's house, where all my family gathered for a great day at the pool and played some corn hole. It was an awesome day and none of the kids had any melt downs, which was great! The weather couldn't have been better. Thank you Lord. :)

Precious little Ceci!

Jordan loving the water! He would have swam all day!

Joel and Tara. Look at those baby blues!

Please ignore my weird talking voice in the video.... ;)

Earlier, before the video, Jordan did a front flip off the board and his arm swimmies came off. I screamed from the other end of the pool and my dad jumped in, clothes and all, to save him. Scared me to death! Thanks dad!

Garage Sale Success

I took the day off of work on Friday so that I could go to all the garage sales at Arlington Park. My mom met me early in the morning and we both found lots of great deals. I ended up finding 2 pairs of dress shoes that looked brand new for $3 a piece. And at another sale I found some awesome running shoes for $2, again looking brand new. There were some big coolers priced around $10 to $15 at a couple sales, but I wasn't going to pay that price. We stopped at one that had an Igloo cooler for $0.50! It had a broken handle, but still, that wasn't a big deal. I did get ripped off though at one place when I bought a pair of Walkie Talkies for the boys for $4 that the girl PROMISED worked. Well, they didn't. I even looked them up online when i got home and they were rated with 1 star out of 5 for poor product. All we heard was static when we put the batteries in. Oh well, the boys haven't stopped playing with them because they are in the shape of Marvel Comic action figures.

Saturday we went to Bryan to watch Savannah play soccer. She did so good. She carried her team scoring 5 goals! They won by 2. We were/are so proud of her! Her uniform wasn't very dirty after the game so in light of Nik telling her before the game that her jersey better be dirty after the game was over, she happily did a "pete rose" slide into the dirt that was in front of the goal. Gross!! :)

Sunday afternoon, we were offered a couple free tickets from our neighbors for a Tin Caps game. Nik and Savannah ended up going and I had a baby shower to attend. Nik's mom came from Ohio to watch the boys for us. Thank you Barb!! We appreciate you so much.

We are getting excited for vacation to Tennessee in the next couple of weeks. It will be great to get away!

Take Me Out to the Ball Game!

Carter and Jordan both wanted to do their rendition of Take Me Out to the Ball Game. Carter had an unexpected surprise in his version. You will just have to watch. And Jordan was so excited at the end of his. Gotta Love it!!!

Mother's Day 2009

What a great weekend. Both Saturday and Sunday, Nik got up with the boys so I could sleep in a bit. Sunday morning I was awakened by breakfast in bed. It brought me back to the days when I always made my mom 2 big pieces of toast with grape jelly. Hahah. Do you remember that mom? But this was quite the breakfast with bacon, eggs, and toast. Thank you boys!

Sunday after church we headed to Lakeside Park to meet up with the Eldens. As soon as we got there though, I heard someone calling my name, and to my surprise, it was one of my best friends Amanda Hubartt. She had her two daughters with her who I rarley see because they live in Indianapolis. It was great to laugh and talk with her. I miss you so much Amanda. The time went too fast. :)

We tried to get a picture of all the kids at the end, but the Ice Cream truck (I call it the curse haha) came by and of course, my boys got all upset and didn't want to pose or smile for a picture unless they had ice cream. (see photo below.) Amanda's girls remained perfect little angels. ;)
But at least I got a great picture with Amanda. :)

It was great seeing the Elden clan. Got to meet the new baby boys. Although they slept the whole time we were there. A nice break for the moms. :) It was great just to just chill at the picnic tables and talk. Addie and Parker are getting so big! Such cuties. What a great day!

Ballet Recital

It's that time again. Every weekend around Mother's Day is the annual Bryan ballet recital. We usually go on a Saturday night, but this year we decided to try a Thursday night. The boys got to spend time with Grandpa Stiver and ride the gator around.

Savannah performed 3 dances this time. The first one was in a beautiful blue oufit to the song Bach Suite. The other two were in a yellow outfit tapping to the songs of Let's Hear it for the Boys and Uptown Girls. She did awesome!! We are so proud of her. :) The finale' was Young Frankenstein put on by the high school drama class. It was very well done.
