Weekend Update:
Friday afternoon, Lance's addition was having a garage sale, so I hit up several of those, but most of them were selling baby girl clothes. So I only walked away with a children's book, but I enjoyed myself anyway. I love garage sales, although, I always feel rude when I walk away without purchasing anything, but sometimes, people just have total junk out there. I went to one where they had several halloween costumes, but they all majorly smelled like smoke. No thanks.
Saturday afternoon my parents and our good friends Kevin and Kelli Wack came over for a cookout. Since K&K moved to Hicksville, we haven't hung out as much as we used to. It was a great night. Their daughter Ceci is going to be turning 1 next month. She is extremely adorable.
My dad helped Nik put up the trampoline that they bought for our kids at christmas time. We wanted to wait until the weather was nice before we put it together. Our boys have had a riot. I am soooo glad we bought the net enclosure to go with it. Jordan just runs on it like a wild man, he would have fallen off a million times by now if we didn't have that net. I may even be able to get some yard work done now too with them jumping around in it. I will get some pics of them on it up soon.
Mom cut the boys' hair. It was very much needed!! They are ready for summer now! Thanks mom!
Sunday we went to Bryan, Ohio to watch Savannah play soccer. She had two games that afternoon. They were both an hour long. So she was very tired at the end of the day. She scored a goal in the first game. They won their first game and lost the second. Great Grandma and Grandpa Baker and Savannah's cousin Claire made it over from Kendallville. We told them they were good luck since Savannah won that game. :)
It was a great weekend, but I am soo tired this morning. Oh, and Manda is back to work. I am sad that her time is over at home, but also happy to talk to her again online!! Welcome back Manda. Now, get all that work done that has been sitting at your desk for the last 12 weeks! :)

What's Shakin'
At around 5:36am this morning, our shaking bed woke us up from our sleep. It lasted about 15 seconds. We immediately looked out the window to see if any of our neighbors also shared the same rumblings, but no one seemed to be alarmed. Nik was trying to figure out what was going on, but I was determined it was an earthquake. I turned on the news, and yep, the newsroom was getting hit with several calls. I guess the quake spread in parts of Illinois, Michigan, Indiana, and Ohio. Craziness!! I am so glad it woke us up though, what a cool experience. I remember it happening back in 1987. I asked Lance about it this morning, and he said he remembers it too. We were standing in our kitchen, and he and I both remembered the kitchen mugs swaying back and forth from the shelf they were hanging on. I couldn't believe he remembered that.
Did anyone else feel the shake this morning???

A Diamond in the Rough
Saturday morning, I went to my first garage sale this year. It was actually a sponsored children's sale at a middle school, so it was a pretty big sale. I was surprised to see several people there at 8am when it opened. I didn't find any clothes for my boys, but I did find 2 pair of jeans for Savannah. One was for $1 and the other had a small hole in one of the knees, so it was marked free!! But the best deal I got came from the toy section. Now, we have a ton of toys at home, so I don't usually go toy shopping, but as I was scanning the table of toys, I came upon a giant sized (14" tall) Buzz Lightyear toy for $3 that talks and makes lazor sounds. I quickly snatched it up because, as I am sure you remember from the Christmas pictures I had posted of Carter in his Buzz Lightyear dress-up outfit, he LOVES Buzz, and sometimes, proclaims that he is Buzz himself. He has probably watched the movie (I am embarressed to admit) over 20 times.
But that's not all, as I walked over to the next table, I found a giant talking Woody doll for $0.50 and beside him sat a giant talking Jesse doll for $0.50 as well!!! It was Toy Story heaven. :)
I couldn't leave Jordan out of the mix, so I looked for anything to do with Winnie-the-Pooh and I found a large Tigger stuffed animal. When I got home, the boys were super excited to see my "finds" and they played with them all day long. Carter even wanted to take Buzz at his naptime.
The coolest thing though, is that I looked up the same Buzz Lightyear doll that I found at the garage sale on Ebay, and there were 2 of them going for around $30 each!!

Just Because
Last night Nik was a bit late getting home. He has been very busy with studying in the evenings, youth meetings every other week, and youth group on Wednesday nights. So this leaves me to watch the boys every evening. Some days I want to pull my hair out, but I know right now things have to be how they are. Anyways, I was worried about him last night when he wasn't home at his normal time, and I tried calling his phone, but it wasn't on. When he got home, he brought me probably the most gorgeous boquet of flowers I have ever seen. Thanks honey, I love you so much!!!

Shout to the Lord - Idol Gives Back
Oh my word!!! Did you see the end of American Idol last night? They ended the show with Shout to the Lord!! I was totally blown away. And last week Dolly Parton sang a song all about Jesus. She proclaimed him like crazy. It was awesome! Here is the clip of Shout to the Lord in case you didn't watch the show. The song was soooooooooooo amazing. I am sure Simon Cowell was peeing his pants.
Brian and the girls
Ok, so it's been over a week since I have posted, but really nothing too exciting has been going on. All my kids had colds for a week and are finally over them thank goodness. We are really enjoying the warm weather. We went to the park on Sunday afternoon. All three of the kids had a blast. Carter was yelling at the "ghosts" during our walk to the park and it took me a minute to realize he meant geese.
Alright, the picture below is very random. It is from my 7 year old birthday party, and it will only amuse a few readers, but I just thought it was quite hillarious when I noticed my brother is in ALL the pictures from that party. Hahaha.

8 Interesting Facts
Alrighty. I have been "tagged" by my friend Amanda to post 8 interested things about myself. Well, here are the things I came up with off the top of my head. Here goes.
- I hated pizza for 24 years of my life until I gave birth to my first son, Carter. Pregnancy can do really weird things to you.
- Most people know this but, if my hands are locked together behind my back, I can twist them around up and over my head and not let go until they are still locked together in front of my body.
- I like to sleep with my socks on.
- When I was little, I hated sleeping alone in my room, and when my brothers fell asleep, I would sneak into their room and sleep under their bunkbed until it was early morning and then I would slip back into my room. I did this for quite a while.
- When I was young, my parents had a rule that none of us were allowed to ride 4-wheelers because they heard to many horror stories about kids getting hurt. But Brian and I had two special friends that we always rode around with in the county. Sorry mom and dad. We weren't perfect children after all. haha.... jk
- My typing speed is 80 words per minute.
- I once was in the second row at a Third Day concert and went to the "Meet and Greet" after the concert. When I met the lead singer, Mac Powell, he said to me, I saw you worshiping God during the concert. I wanted to die right there. I love Mac Powell!!
- I get very giddy when there is a Jon and Kate Plus 8 Marathon on TLC.
