The 4th and a Birthday Girl

We had a heck of a weekend this year for the 4th of July! We headed to Toledo, Ohio on Friday morning and spent a lot of time at the Holiday Inn French Quarter Hotel. Nik has memories of staying there as a kid and couldn't wait to go. They had a very awesome indoor/outdoor pool and a gigantic hot tub. And the hot tub allowed kids over the age of 3 to get in, so the kids loved going back and forth from the pool to the hot tub. After we swam for a while, we headed over to our good friends Abbie and Dan Stever's new house. They have only been in it for a week. So it was awesome to get to see it so soon. We also celebrated Abbie's birthday on Saturday. She is a 4th of July baby. :) Oh, and by the way, she took a lot of the pictures I added on this post. Thanks Abb!

We had lots of good laughs with them and our kids kept cracking them up. Abbie offered to steal Jordan away from us for a week, and Savannah said, "Only if we can have Clare." Clare is almost 1 and she is the cutest thing! She is a speed demon at crawling right now, but she will be walking any day. She zooms around the furniture. I tried to hold her a couple times, but she LOVES her momma. :)

Saturday night we headed over to Zia's restaurant (a birthday tradition for Abbie) and had some good eatin. Afterwards we watched the fireworks outside the restaurant near the docks. I have to say, Toledo does put on a good show, and the finale almost made me jump out of my pants. Jordan wasn't a fan of the fireworks this year, so he sat in the car with his big sister. She kept him safe, as you can see in one of the pics.

I love this pic except for the flash. It perfectly captures the moment during the fireworks of Jordan's fear comforted by his big sis.

Just a cute pic I wanted to add of the boys at home before we left for the weekend.
