My New Obsession

When we were in Cali visiting Nate, there was a drink there by Superfood called Green Machine. It was a massive fruit blend that increases energy and is sure to help you start out the morning right. Nik had 2 or 3 of these while we were in Cali. They are made in Cali and only sold in the surrounding areas there. But low and behold, I was at Wal-Mart last night and found other drinks in the produce section by Superfood. Here is my new obsession.

I totally downed it. It was soooo amazing. I think it is my new found favorite drink maybe of all time. Here are the ingredents.

Mango Puree
Apple Juice
Pure Filtered Water
Orange Juice
Banana Puree
Coconut
Lemon Juice
Vitamin C (Ascorbic Acid)

They are $3.00 though. A bit pricey, but definately give you a boost. There were probably 5 different varieties, but man, I don't know if I will try anything else cuz it was just too good!

Class of 1998

Class Picture for the Edgerton Earth (paper)

Well our 10-year reunion was great. At first everyone was a little shy and sort of stayed in their own groups from high school, but after dinner, everyone opened up and was going around and having a good time. Hardly anyone danced, like I figured, and the music was so loud that we were shouting at each other. The place wasn't air-conditioned either, so we all headed outside after the meal. Erin did a great job at decorating the place with our school colors and had cute party favors on the table. There was also a door prize table that she had decked out in school colors as well.

I was a little dissapointed that several girls didn't show that I was hoping to see, but it was still a great time. I believe there were 24 classmates that showed up by the end of the night. I didn't take any pictures, but Erin took several that I will post.

Chasity (Kurtz) and Shawn Plunkett

Nic Hughart (flew in from California just for the reunion) and Ryan Sanders

Wow, I'm Getting Old!!

So tomorrow is my 10-year high school reunion. Wow, has it really been that long? Amazing.... We didn't have our 5-year because our class president didn't feel like doing anything I guess. So another classmate took over this year. I have been helping her get email addresses together and pitching in my ideas. I think it will be a nice reunion. We are meeting at Miller Park in Edgerton and having a catered dinner. I wanted to straighten my hair for tomorrow night, but it looks like rain. :( Blah. Last weekend was gorgeous. Oh well...

Well, not much to update. I will try to get lots of pics from my reunion.

Pigeon Forge

For months now, I have known about our upcoming trip to Pigeon Forge, TN, but I couldn't say anything on here because it was a surprise trip for some of Nik's relatives that read this blog. So anyway, we left on Friday morning and got back last night. I have never been to Pigeon Forge, but on the main drag, there is go-cart track after go-cart track, several putt-putt courses, live shows, museums, you name it. It is quite the tourist town with quite the horrendous traffic. Our cabins were on a very steep hill, and our balcony displayed the most breathtaking view of the Smoky Mountains.

There were 28 of us all together that went from Nik's family. There were 6 bedrooms and several queen pull-out couches and 2 sets of bunk beds. Each bedroom had a jacuzzi tub and there was a hot tub on the lower balcony. It was a pretty phat place. Sometimes it was hard to keep track of our boys because the place was so large. They loved it though. Here are some pictures from the website of some of the rooms in the cabin. But here is the link if you want to check it out for yourself. Nik and I are thinking of going back there sometime for either a second honeymoon, or with several adult friends.

The Hot Tub. Talk about a view!!

Oscar Mayer Weiner

To all the women who went to Women of Faith, I found the little Oscar Meyer Weiner boy on Youtube.com It's hillarious..... Here is the link.

For the other people who don't know what that's about....

At the Women of Faith Conference, Nicole C. Mullens was the main singer, and her nephew was a dancer with her on stage. When he was 4 years old, he beat out 65,000 other applicants to do the Oscar Meyer Weiner commercial on tv. He sang it on the Oprah show (above link). Then 10 years later, when he was 14, Oprah had him come back on the show and sing it again.

Women of Faith 2008

I had a wonderful weekend in Indianapolis at Women of Faith. This was the second year I have been fortunate to go. Mom, Aunt Cherie, Danielle, Grandma Hose, Kathy Sanders and I all stayed in the Marriot Hotel. It was fabulous. Becki, Manda, Kris, and Sam were all supposed to as well, but they got there later than we did, and they were told that the hotel was overbooked. They were then sent to Comfort Suites, which was a brand new Hotel, and they were given a free hotel suite. God is good. Wow..

We had a Starbucks in our hotel, which was awesome. We just walked about four blocks to Conseco Field house for the conference both days. There were sooooo many women. The speakers at the conference each year are always hilarious and can bring you to tears. They are the best story tellers. And Nicole C. Mullens was the main singing artist this year. She has a heart of gold. She is married with 5 kids and also has a youth ministry with kids that she mentors about the Lord and also teaches them to dance and sing. What a busy woman!

I posted a video of Nicole and the next one is of the AMAZING Sandi Patty. Wow. She still blows me away after all these years, and her husband is quite the singer too (in the video with her). He is one handsome little fella. :) We are so fortunate to live near Anderson, Indiana where Sandi lives because our conference is the only one every year that her family/husband comes to. Her extended family (in the picture) actually got up and sang a song accupela for us. It was gorgeous and heartwarming. Her mom and dad were up there too.

My dad watched the boys for us on Friday night because Nik traveled to Chicago for a Cubs game with his mom's side of the family. It was his grandma's birthday and they all thought it would be a great surprise. Nate flew in from California to add to the surprise. Sadly, the Cubs lost 3-0.
