Trick or Treat Time

Halloween 2007. Each year as the kids get older, each holiday just gets more fun and exciting for us. This year Carter was Superman and Jordan was Peter Pan, although several people mistaked him for Robin Hood, but whomever he was precieved to be, he sure was a cute little stinker. Carter wanted to eat all his candy tonight. I am sure he will be asking about it for days... Our neighbor Tom plays (or should I say blares) scary theme music throughout the trick or treat hours. There is an old woman every year who likes to call the cops on him, but they just ignore her. He also has smoke that goes off every now and then and strobe lights. We think it makes the trick or treat experience all the more fun. There is a picture of Carter, Jordan, and I where Jordan isn't exactly thrilled. He is crying because of the scary music outside, but he got over it pretty quickly. The rain that the weather was predicting didn't come, so it was a pretty great night to be out and about for the kids. I believe it was another record this year with kids on our street. We ran out of 240 pieces of candy in the first 20 minutes (and that is 1 piece per kid). Our neighbor Tom got rid of 600 peices of candy by the end of the first hour. Yeah that's right, I said 600!! Parents drop off kids by the van loads on our street, it's pretty crazy!!

Jordan, upset over the music.

Blink

So I was just reading my cousin Ashley's blog this morning and she posted about Plumb's newest CD out called Blink. It is all about being a mommy. I sampled it at this link:

http://www.pushplayer.com/plumb/b/

It is more of a lullaby album because all the songs are slow, but wow, it is gorgeous and can bring tears to your eyes. I think every mother should own this album. It just came out this month. So if you have any extra cash sitting around, this is a must have.

Here are the tracks.

1. My Sweet My Lovely
2. God will Take Care of You
3. In My Arms
4. Always
5. Children of the Heavenly Father
6. Blink
7. My Child
8. Me
9. Sleep
10. Solomon's Song

Kids Say the Darndest Things

Carter was nonstop with comments this morning.

We left his coat at church yesterday, so Nik was putting a sweater on him this morning and realized after it was on that the zipper was missing. I was thinking great, we are running out of options here. And I started to huff and puff a little and mentioned that Carter probably pulled it off or something, and Nik said that he wouldn't have done that. Then all the sudden Carter started to breathe hard and said, "I am so mad of this, ugh!" Hahah.. I died laughing.

Then we went into the bathroom to get ready. Now I am obviously not proud of what Carter said next, but it was still funny. He got up on his stepstool and then climbed on the counter to open the vanity for the toothpaste. After he opened the mirror he said, "Ugh, someone took the toothpaste mom, Oh crap."

Then we were in the car on the way to the babysitters and he wanted to see the moon very badly for some reason. As we were on our way, the moon was behind us, behind the tall trees. I said, "Carter, we can't see the moon right now cuz the trees are blocking it." And then he said, "Can't we just tell daddy to get up and move the trees out of the way?"

That's How We Roll

Friday night mom and dad came into Fort Wayne to get a few things done. They stopped by our house to see the boys and took us out to Pizza Hut. If you have never tried the Chicken Pomodora, oh my word, that is some amazing pasta, yum!!! Thanks mom and dad. Have a great time in Tennessee this week..

The rest of the weekend was alright... Nothing exciting....

Two comments from Carter tonight.

Cart: (During supper) That's how we roll.
Beth: Where did you hear that?
Cart: From Stuart Little (his favorite movie at the moment)...

I heard a big crash in the playroom. The boys had knocked over Savannah's Barbie Mansion. Carter was in the process of picking it up, but it was too heavy. As he was huffing and puffing to pick it up he said, "Maybe when I get older I can pick it up Momma."

Daddy/Daughter Dance Picture

Nik found this picture on one of Savannah's Aunt's myspace websites. I still need to call Savannah's mom and ask her to email the pics she took, but for now, you can see how adorable she looked. Aren't they cute. :)

Carter's Birthday Party

Well, Friday night, Carter's Great Grandma Hose stopped by with a spiderman gift and some cupcakes. When I gave him a cupcake, he just licked off all the icing and then wanted another one. I told him he had to eat the whole thing before he got another one, so he did. But later that evening, I came downstairs and went into the kitchen. I found three cupcakes and a fourth downstairs with all the icing licked off. He had conned his daddy into opening the container and didn't tell him he was going to lick them all. What a little stinker...

Saturday night Nik went to Savannah's school for a Daddy/Daughter dance. She looked gorgeous, but Nik forgot to take the camera. So I will have to post pictures later from the one's her mom took, once I get them.

Last night we had Carter's birthday party. He isn't actually 3 until this coming Thursday, but my parents are going to be out of town and we decided to have it last night. He got lots of nice things: Toy Story Action Figures, Elmo Hot Potato Game, Mr. Potato Head Spiderman, Clothes, Matchbox Cars, Tee-Ball Batter, Little Einsteins Book, Underwear (hopefully this will inspire him), and some candy. He had a blast with his cousins and his best friends Elijah and Stephen. There were 6 boys under the age of 4 running around, so it was a bit crazy at times, but a lot of fun!

A little Hudson A little popcorn..

Sorry I only have a couple pictures of the little guy. And the second one I took the flash off cuz I didn't want to bother him. But you can see him alright I guess. He was so little and light. It's always exciting to hold a brand new little one.

Anything but a Sandwich.

A few Carter quotes from today.

C: Mommy, what are you doing?
B: I am cleaning the dirt off the rugs.
C: Oh, thank you. Thank you for the rugs, Mommy.

While watching T.V., Carter started smelling my neck. "Mommy, you smell like a sandwich."

After brushing his teeth before bed, he filled his Spongebob dixie cup with water. "Mom, I like this water. It will help my throat feel better." (he isn't even sick.?.?)

The Apple Festival

Carter really enjoyed the festival, but we didn't stay as long this year due to the extremely hot weather and the amazingly large crowds. It was a bit of a struggle with our double stroller, but we managed to get through. The carmel apples this year were sooooo good once again. Carter enjoyed his very FIRST pony ride. I was afraid he would get scared, but he was a pro, the whole time I walked beside him I was thinking there was no need for me to stand there. But I couldn't let my baby get hurt. :) He also played a fishing game and won a candy necklace. Another great year for the Apple Festival!!

A Trip to the Library

I took Carter to the library last night after work. We have only been there a couple times, but we should go more often becasue they have so much to offer. It's a brand new facility and there is a nice cafe' nearby too. I was surprised to see about 10 kids there since it was around 8pm, but maybe they work full time like me.

The Playhouse. This was one of Carter's favorites. He loved putting those apples on the tree.
The Letter Tree with puzzles and blocks.

I asked Carter what the green stuff was on the left and he said Two Hundred Dollars mom. I have no idea where he got that number or how he even knew that was money. :)

This area was actually for 7 year olds or older. We were told to get down, cuz mommy forgot to read the sign. Whoops.

The top of the forbidden area. :)

I love this picture. It was connected to the fish tanks.

Here is a slide that was carpeted. Dumb idea. Obviously you can't slide down carpet.

He loved looking at the fish.

Carter definately isn't shy. He went up to any kid he saw and wanted to play with them. There was actually one little girl who told him to get away from her and he told her she was rude!! Hahahahahah....

Mexican Hot Cocoa

I saw this recipe on the back of one of my Nestle hot chocolate packets. It is soooooooooo good. YOu have to try it.

Heat up 1 cup of milk. Add hot chocolate mix, 1/4 tsp. vanilla extract, 1/4 tsp. cinnamon (which I just put three good dashes of cinnamon in, I didn't measure that). Stir and enjoy!!!!!!!!!!

Mmmmm I want some right now.

Let me know if you try it.

Blessings

The weekend was full but good. My mom and dad came over on Saturday to help me with a few things that I have wanted to get done. There was a window in my kitchen that started out with a long crack in it, but Carter and Jordan have a bad habit of banging on windows when they see someone outside and want to get their attention. So needless to say, the crack got much bigger and was looking pretty pathetic. So dad replaced the glass for me and it looks like new again. Thanks Dad!! After he was done, he and mom bought us KFC. Yum!!

Nik and I are so lucky to each be blessed with such amazing parents. We know we can count on them any time anywhere.

We watched "We Are Marshall" last night. Oh man, that movie is so good. It's a true story and has a sad storyline, but definately a great movie. And it had two of my favorite guys in it... Matthew McConahey and Matthew Fox. Can't beat that. :)

Looking forward to tomorrow when it isn't going to be raining all day long... Blah..
