Dad and the Women

Tara, Dad, Me, and Megan

This weekend has been pretty rough and exhausting. The boys have both been very sick since Friday morning. Carter has had the worst of it though with high fever, headache, vomiting, and a weird rash all over his body. And no both boys have sore throats. I wish the pediatrician was open on the weekend, but I am glad they have 24-phone assistance available. If they are both still sick on Monday I will take them in. We are going to miss church for sure though. We did have to miss the circus today, which we were all looking forward too. I was so disappointed, and they were too, but I promised them we would make it up to them by taking them to Chuckie Cheese or McDonald's play place.

This morning, I got to get away for a couple hours though which was wonderful. My dad picked up both my sisters-in-law and I and treated us to Starbucks and then shoe shopping. It was so much fun! My mom was away for the weekend in Columbus for a jewelry event. Dad said she wanted to be there and she was the one treating us to the shoes. So thank you mom and dad! It was such a pick-me-up and much appreciated!

We were also expecting a visit from Grandma and Grandpa Burkhardt today, but sadly we decided it was obviously best if they waited until later in the week. Keep our boys in your prayers please!

Jordan accidently blew out my candles...

I know some of you saw this video already on Facebook, but I couldn't post it to Blogger yesterday because all of their videos were down for some reason.

30 Years on this Earth....

Yesterday was the perfect day, besides having to work a full day... In the morning, I didn't have to get the kids ready. Nik took care of them and dropped them off for me. When I got home, he was making me a meal fit for a queen. There was salad to start off, then he cooked on the grill steak, lamb (my fav) and brats. He also sauteed several vegetables and bought an amazing cake from The Bagel Station that was a chocolate ganache!

But that's not all..... He had several balloons on the table for me and a gorgeous bouquet of pink roses, tiger lilies, and carnations. It was just perfect. He had set the table up with our china and got out placemats and napkins. He wanted to make it just right and he did! He also rented a couple movies for us to watch after he sat with me and watched American Idol. I couldn't have asked for a better birthday!

The wonderful meal!

Jordan took this picture. Hence, the cut-off head. :)

The chocolate ganache cake!

The amazing food!

The yummy veggies!

I also want to give a big SHOUT OUT to miss Savannah who turned the BIG 11 on January 8th. I didn't blog about her birthday cuz she wasn't with us that weekend, but then when we did have her, we didn't take any pictures which I feel bad about, but she mostly got money anyways. I made some very yummy red velvet cupcakes for her that didn't last long. We took them over to our neighbors during a Colts party. I asked her if we could take pictures and sing to her over there, but she declined. :) I probably would have too. :) She ate about 10 of the cupcakes though. :) It was a good night!

Baby on the Way!!!

I got an ultrasound this week to see exactly how far along I was. I wasn't quite sure since my body had been a bit irregular. But the doctor ended up telling me that I was 2 weeks further than I had originally thought. So I am 12 weeks today!! Here we go second trimester. :)

The first picture is of the the baby's booty (left side), "skinny legs" (as what the ultrasound tech called them), and feet (right side).

The second picture shows the baby from a side view. It's head is to the right of the picture. When I got it done, The baby was moving like crazy in my belly. So strange to be able to see it moving, but not feel any of it yet. Not at least for 8 more weeks.

Where a Kid can be a Kid

One of Nik and I's christmas gifts this year was something super amazing from his brother Nate. He paid for us to go to the Cinema Grill for dinner and a movie. We watched Sherlock Holmes, which wasn't really my cup of tea, but Nik really enjoyed it. But during that, Nate treated our kids to Chuck E. Cheese. We even beat them home, so you know they had a blast! Nate took a bunch of pictures with his I-Phone. They can't wait to go back.
