All Things Are Possible

I just called Whitney Young school to see if they had made their decision on the second choice school applicants. She said nothing will be finalized until June, but I then asked her what number Carter was in line on the waiting list. There was good news and bad news.

The good news was that Carter was #1 on the second choice school's waiting list.

The bad news was that there were 20 kids ahead of him in line still on the first choice schools that didn't get in yet.

So I think that means that the only chance Carter would get in would be if kids either moved away, dropped out, or changed school choices. She told me chances were pretty slim for him getting in.

But, my friend Jill told me that her daughter was #25 on Bunche's waiting list a few years ago, so they ended up enrolling her into a private school. Three days after being at the private school they received a phone call that she could come to Bunche. So you never know I guess.

If you could keep this situation in your prayers, we would appreciate it.

Carter's first baseball game

Friday night Carter went to his first baseball game at the new $30 million Parkview Field. The Fort Wayne Tincaps have gone undefeated so for at 10-0. They enjoyed some yummy ballpark food and even played some of the kid games that were there. Nik said Carter was pretty good until about the 6th inning, and then he was ready to go home. We are so glad he got his first taste of baseball though. More to come!

Saturday was opening day for the Fort Wayne Zoo this year. We decided to go and fight the crowds, but the crowds won, and we decided to leave a little early and go again another day. We still have our pass from last season that won't expire until the end of June. There is supposed to be a brand new African Safari Exhibit opening June 6. That should be fun.

Sunday we went to Lance's house to celebrate Isaiah's 4th birthday. Brian and Tara even came from Indy to enjoy the afternoon. We had a great time.

Peter Cottontail Came and Went

Friday night we had supper with my Grandma and her husband John at their new house in Bryan. Grandma made an amazing meal for us and spoiled the kids with some Easter goodies. It was fun to take a tour of their new house and see the combination of his and her stuff together. I loved it!

Saturday was a busy day. Nik's dad came over in the morning to help him fix part of our fence that had fallen down during a windy storm a couple weeks back. We really need to replace the whole fence, but maybe we will do that next tax season. In the afternoon, I took the kids to our church Easter egg hunt, which was very fun. There were 1,500 Easter eggs hidden, so each kid was able to get a ton of eggs in their baskets. The eggs were filled with candy, dimes, or tickets. If they received a ticket, they were able go in the church and grab a prize from the prize table. And they were pretty nice prizes too. Carter ended up with a golf set, and Jordan grabbed a puzzle and a Little Einsteins bath set. Savannah grabbed a jar full of suckers.

After that, I took Savannah to see the new Hannah Montana movie with a friend from church. I have to admit, I really liked the movie.

Sunday of course was Easter, and Carter woke us up at 7:30am. I think this was the first time we didn't have to remind him what was waiting for him downstairs. He couldn't wait to go down there.

Church was great. When I picked up Carter from Sunday school class, he blurted out to me, Jesus died on the cross, after 3 days, He rose again. And then he shoved his papers in my face that he had made. LOL....

After church we went to Kendallville for lunch at Nik's Grandma and Grandpa Baker's house. The food was good as always! The kids did an Easter egg hunt there as well, and some of the eggs were filled with play-doh. What a great idea.

Another month of waiting...

I called FWCS again to clarify our "second" choice school, Whitney Young, to see when the lottery picks will be finalized. I guess everyone's "first" choice school picks have been finalized, but everyone who put down a "second" pick will have to wait a month to find out if they will be chosen. So there is still hope that Carter can make it into Whitney Young. I am really hoping it works out, because I just found out that two of Carter's friends from church made it into Whitney Young. Their parents had marked Whitney Young down as a "first" choice. I wish I had done that. Oh well, we will just have to wait and see.
