The Wardrobe to Narnia

Monday night it started snowing a ton. Around 11pm I decided to go outside and take a few pictures. Only a couple turned out because it was so dark outside, but man was it beautiful. There was absolutely no wind, so all the snow was just sitting up high on all the tree branches. It was the prettiest snow I think I have ever seen. And by Tuesday morning, it was still snowing and was even more beautiful to see it in the daylight. I took more pics on Tuesday. I wish every time it snowed it would look like this.

Push, Lift, Pushhhhhhh

Yesterday afternoon our new sectional and chaise lounge arrived at our house. I was hoping the 2 men would be in and out. Not so lucky. They actually had to take the legs off of the 2 couches for the sectional to even fit through the door, and then that wasn't even enough. They ended up taking off our back door all together. One of the guys asked me if Nik and I had even measured. Um... I am the woman, that's not my job. ;) Whoops. It was an hour ordeal. But they finally made it down to the basement. Although my newly painted stairway ended up with several scratches along the wall, but I had some touch up paint left to help it look almost normal. Out poor banister took quite a scratching though. Oh well. Live and learn I guess. As they were leaving, they sacastically said to me, "If you ever sell this house, you might want to sell the furniture right along with it." Wise words I think. :)

The furniture looks awesome I must say. Its a lot bigger in our basement than it appeared in the store. We might even get rid of our lazy boy for more room. Our new carpet should get put in within the next couple weeks. And my new stove is supposed to arrive in store sometime next week!! I am just not looking forward to ripping up the carpet. Blah. And Nik pulled something in his back on Sunday and he has been hurting really badly since then. If you would, please pray for healing in his back. He thinks it could possibly be more than just a pulled muscle, cuz he thinks he should have been fine by now.

Well, that's all my news for now. Have a good day everyone!

Be Mine

Valentine's Day was awesome!! Pops Mcgee came over and bought pizza for the kids and had a great time with them while we were at dinner. Dinner was sooooooooo amazing. Wow. Thanks mom and dad!! Again, and again, and again!! Okay, I must brag a little. We were told that we could order whatever we wanted, so of course I couldn't pass up lobster!! Are you kidding me!! It was the BEST. It just melted in your mouth. Oh man. Alright alright, I will quit bragging and just show you a picture of my fantastic meal. :) I know you are dying to see it. And at the end of our meal, dad had the waitress present all of us girls with a box of Debrands Chocolate. My FAVORITE!! Holy cow, what a surprise. And he also got my mom a diamond tennis bracelet. What a guy!!

I made homemade Valentine's Cards for some of our family. Yes, I made the boys pose.

Dinner at Cork N Cleaver

Oh yes, my lobsterfest!!

Now that is some good lookin food right there!!

The Birthday Boy!! Ice cream Mocha Cake!! We all had to have a slice.

Best of Both Worlds

Our weekend was pretty relaxing. On Saturday we went furniture shopping and purchased a new couch and chaise lounge for our basement. The couch we have down there now is pretty old and tattered. We can't wait for our new furniture to arrive. We are also going to replace the carpet down there too. We got a nice tax refund. :)

Savannah and I went to the Hannah Montana 3D movie Best of Both Worlds on Saturday night. It was pretty awesome. We were singing along to the songs. I wish I could have afforded to take her to the live concert, but $500 is out the the question. :) We had fun though. She said that movie was AWESOME after we left.

Sunday morning we headed to Van Wert for church at Vineyard. Friday night, our Pastor called Nik and asked if he could preach there even though it was 2 days away, and Nik said it would be no problem. He talked about the Father's Heart. It was a great message. It's amazing how Nik can do such a great job speaking on such short notice.

Precious Moments

Ok, so I know we have all seen those clips from America's Funniest Home Videos of the kids that have fallen asleep while on the toilet, eating, etc., but I honestly never thought I would catch a kid doing that, let alone it being MY OWN KID. Well, Sunday night, I got Jordan his supper and recieved a phone call that some company was going to come over. So I quickly got out the sweeper and ran down to the basement to make it look a little cleaner. When I got upstairs, I noticed Jordan in the dining room with his head down. I said to him, "Aww, buddy, are you tired?" The kid didn't move. I said a little louder, "Jordan, are you awake?" Still no movement. LOL He had totally fallen asleep at the table. I was only downstairs for 5 minutes at most. He was getting over his sickness from earlier in the week, but it was too precious. I had to take a couple pictures.

He also received his first haircut from Grandma Stiver over the weekend too. She said he was her best customer ever. He didn't move at all. What a kid!!

Ok, one more pic. This is a rarity!!! How cute are they. :)

A Light in the Darkness

Yesterday when I got home from work, I discovered that the garage door would not open, which made me immediately angry, thinking the battery in the opener had died, and it was pouring down rain. So I ran up to the main button inside the garage, only to find that it too was not working.

As I went in the house, I then figured out that we had no power. It ended up that our house and 1,200 other homes were without power, due to a telephone pole catching on fire. We were without power until 6:30am the NEXT MORNING.

All of us at one time or another have experienced a power outage for a couple hours, but to go without it for 12 hours. Especially when evening is just beginning. So I lit practically all the candles I had in my house and we lit our fireplace.

Remember, this means:

No T.V

No Computer

No Heat

No Hot Water

No Lights

No Microwave

No Oven

No Refrigerator

The boys enjoyed the fireplace, although we had to yell at them several times to get back. It was a pretty boring night and we all ended up going to bed earlier than usual since there was nothing to do. It does make you think about the things you take for granted. And I am glad we have a shelter over our heads. I honestly don't ever want to go through that though again!!
